For
many people unwanted hair growth is a real
problem. Traditional methods of hair removal
such as shaving, plucking, waxing and electrolysis
can be painful, laborious and temporary.
Laser hair removal puts an end to troublesome
hair growth and with the introduction of
the Soprano XL Super Hair Removal (SHR)
Laser virtually painless hair removal can
be achieved.
How does it work?
The Soprano XL SHR mode works by using
relatively low energy pulses of infrared
light but at a very high repetition rate
to gradually heat the hair follicles until
they can no longer produce new hair. Using
unique IN-Motion™ technology along
with surface cooling to keep the skin feeling
comfortable, the sweeping motion greatly
reduces the discomfort often associated
with Laser hair removal, and also eliminates
any missed spots common to other types
of Laser hair removal.
How long does it take?
Depending upon the area/s being treated
it can take from just a few minutes (eg
top lip), to a couple of hours (eg full
legs).
How many treatments will I need?
On average, between 4 and 6 treatments
are usually required approximately 6 – 8
weeks apart. Laser hair removal is usually
long lasting, but sometimes new hair growth
can occur.

What
should I expect during and after treatment?
Treatment areas should be shaved prior to
attending for laser hair removal. A layer of cool, clear
gel will be applied and the laser moved gently over the area
a number of times. The gel will be removed and, if necessary,
further cooling applied. A gradual increase in heat is usually
felt and occasionally a prickling sensation, but clients
usually report very little discomfort. Smaller areas such
as the top lip or toes can sometimes prove more uncomfortable,
but are still quite tolerable.
Immediately following treatment the area may
be a little red but this will soon subside. Treated areas
should be protected from sunlight to prevent complications
such as excess pigmentation, burning or blistering. The hair
will seem to continue to grow for a number of days, but this
is actually the hair being shed. A month or more will often
pass before the next stage of hair growth is evident.
Can anyone have this treatment?
Hair Removal using SHR is suitable for virtually
all skin types. The best results will be achieved on clients
with dark hair and fair skin. Fair or blond hair cannot be
treated successfully with lasers. We can only treat clients
