Thread
veins, ‘age spots’ and general sun damage can all
prematurely age us. Intense Pulsed Light technology is ideal
for gently and effectively treating prematurely aged skin.
It can also improve the appearance of fine lines with younger,
fresher skin being apparent after a series of treatments.
How does it work?
A combination of green and yellow light targets
pigmentation, sun damage and thread veins (see also pigmented
lesions and leg & facial veins). Over a series of sessions
pigmentation is lightened and thread veins lessened to even
out skin tone. The heating action of the treatment has the
effect of tightening the skin, thereby causing fine lines
to disappear.
How long does it take?
Each session is usually 30 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
Between 4 – 6 sessions are usually required
at monthly intervals.
What should I expect during and
after treatment?
A cool, clear gel is applied to the treatment
area. Each pulse of the Light has been described as a ‘tiny
rubber band snap’. The footprint of the IPL is about
6cm² so a whole face can usually be covered in 14 – 20
pulses. The gel is removed and further cooling applied. Following
treatment the area may be red, but this usually subsides
very quickly.

When
will I see results?
Due to the nature of the treatment results
are not usually evident immediately. 2 or 3 sessions may
have been carried out before you notice an improvement in
the overall condition of your skin.
Can anyone have this treatment?
Photo-rejuvenation treatment is suitable for
all skin types although, due to the nature of the treatment,
it is generally more effective on fairer skins. We can only
treat clients over 18 years of age. There are some contraindications
for all laser/IPL treatments. Please click here for more
information.
How much does it cost?
Costs start at £160 per session for a
full face (please see prices for details) but for a more
accurate quotation please call us on 01482 634984 to make an
appointment for your free, no obligation consultation.
