Sculptra

Over time our skin loses its youthful plumpness and begins to sag, causing wrinkles, sunken cheeks and jowls. From an early age the amount of collagen our body produces slows down. We also lose fat tissue which maintains the fullness of the face so our faces become thin and narrow, making us look older.

Sculptra™ helps the skin to replace lost collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles, helping us to look younger naturally.

How does it work?

Sculptra™ is an injectable treatment that stimulates the growth of the body’s own collagen thus restoring lost facial volume gradually giving you a fuller, younger looking face.

Does the treatment hurt?

As with all injections you are likely to feel some discomfort. A surface anaesthetic is applied to your skin before treatment, and the solution injected also contains an anaesthetic to make the treatment more comfortable. Cool packs are applied after the treatment to help calm your skin.

Are there any side effects?

The majority of the side effects are related to the fact that it is an injectable procedure. Therefore you may experience some bleeding and tenderness during treatment. Following treatment there is likely to be some swelling, redness and bruising at the site of injection. These effects usually resolve within a week of treatment. As with all procedures that involve an injection there is a risk of infection. One possible delayed side effect with Sculptra™ can be small bumps under the skin in the treated area. They may not be visible, and you may notice them only when you press on the skin.

When will I see results?

The product is mixed with water to inject, so it may appear that Sculptra™ has worked immediately. However, the water will be absorbed within a few days so your face will return to how it looked before treatment. Due to the nature and speed of collagen growth it will usually take 6 – 8 weeks for any results to become evident. Generally 2 to 3 treatments may be necessary to obtain the required results, however, after the end of your course of treatments the results can last for up to 3 years.

How much does the procedure cost?

A full course of 3 sessions costs approximately £2000. However, we are all unique and requirements vary so for a personal quotation please call 01482 634984 to book your free, no obligation consultation.
